Bangladesh started really well with Hasan Mahmud getting 4 wickets early on, but a 200-run partnership between Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja helped India reach a solid total of 376. Hasan Mahmud starred for Bangladesh, picking up his 2nd Test match 5-wicket haul. Bangladesh was bowled out for 149. Jasprit Bumrah picked up 4 wickets in the first innings for India. After that, Shubhman Gill and Rishabh Pant scored centuries to help India declare at 2874 in their 2nd innings and set Bangladesh a target of 515 to win the match. Bangladesh tried their best and captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto scored a valiant half-century, but the target proved to be too much in the end, as Ravichandran Ashwin picked up another 5fa as India bowled the Bangladeshis out for 234 to win the match by 280 runs inside 4 days.
