Moses is gone, Joshua is the new leader. The Promised Land, promised to Moses and the people of Israel, is land with "seven nations greater and mightier than you." From the Red Sea to the Jordan River, God must take slaves and turn them into warriors who cross over to conquer and occupy the land of the nations.
