US Close 13 Apr 16: Another 4% gain in oil boosting markets

US sharemarkets rose on Tuesday. The energy sector led the way on hopes that an oil production freeze would go ahead. Banks rose ahead of earnings reports. JP Morgan will report on Wednesday. The Dow Jones ended higher by almost 165 points or 0.9% after being up 188 points. The S&P 500 index rose by 1.0% while the Nasdaq gained 39 points or 0.9%.

The International Monetary Fund tips the global economy to grow by 3.2% in 2016 (previous forecast 3.4%) with growth to pick up to 3.5% in 2017.
