Genesis 48:15  These are the last hours of the life of Jacob. He's called his favorite son Joseph and he is blessing him. In blessing Joseph he describes to Joseph via his prayer all that God has been to him in his life. So in this blessing/prayer, Jacob sums up his understanding of his whole life up to this very moment.
