The Rapture Part 5
- Four questions to answer in this series.
- What is the rapture?
- When is the rapture?
- Where are we raptured to?
- Why is there a rapture?
- John 14:1-3
- Verse 1-2
- The word Manson is only used in the king James version of the bible, the word in the Greek is “mone” and means room, space, or dwelling place.
- There are 2 other times Jesus’ says My Father’s
house and Every time He is talking about the temple.
- John 2:13-17
- Luke 2:45-49
- What does He mean then in my Fathers house there is many dwelling places?
- Ezekiel 41:5-7
- Ezekiel 40-45 describes the Messianic temple, or the temple that will be built in the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth.
- It describes more of a campus temple that will take up much of the city of Jerusalem.
- These verses describe the many dwelling places that will be in the temple.
- Mathew 19:27-30
- He first and foremost is talking to His disciples that they will literally dwell with Him in the Messianic temple in the millennium and sit on 12 thrones and rule over the 12 tribes of Isreal
- He also reiterates that all of us who die in Christ will have a place in His eternal Kingdom!
- What does he mean when He says I go to prepare a place for you?
- Hebrews 9:11-15
- Christ was the once and all sacrifice for all of the sin of the world
- He entered the Most Holy place and sealed our redemption.
- He made a new covenant that is not bound by the law but is received by grace through faith.
- There is not a construction site in heaven building mansions.
- Verse 3
- Jesus is teaching us what He and Paul have been teaching us through this study. If He goes, to the cross, to prepare a place for us with His blood, ascends into Heaven to enter the Holy place and seal our redemption. He will also return to us, or descend from Heaven and gather us to Him and where He is, which is on earth setting up His Kingdom, there we will be also!
- Revelation 3:10-12
- Verse 10
- Jesus is saying that because you persevere, that He will keep you from the hour of trial that comes on the WHOLE earth, to test ALL those who are on the earth
- The great tribulation is going to be a great time of testing!
- The word keep is “tereo” and means to guard, or keep an eye on the Thayer’s bible definition is: to attent to carefully or to keep one in the state in which he is.
- So this is not saying that we will be removed from the time of trouble, but we will be preserved from falling away from our faith, as we know there will be a great falling away from the faith in during the tribulation period.
- Proof text using the same word John 17:15-20
- Clearly Jesus is praying for His disciples then and down through the age, that He does NOT want the Father to take us out of the world but keep us in our faith through the trials tribulations and troubles.
- Rapture Conclusion
- Mathew 24: Jesus is coming and gathering together His elect after the tribulation, he will come on clouds and the sound of a trumpet and all will see
- 2 Thessalonians 2: the day of the Lord and our gathering together to him are the same day, and it won’t come until after the great falling away and the revealing of the antichrist which is at the abomination of decollation.
- 1 Corinthians 15: When Jesus returns, He will be sent by the last trumpet in time and sequence, He will bring with Him those who died in Christ before us, He will gather us to them and change us from mortal corruptible bodies to immortal incorruptible bodies so the we can inherit the Kingdom that He is coming to set up on earth.
- 1 Thessalonians 4: Jesus is coming in the clouds with the trumpet of God and bringing those who have died in Christ before us, to catch us away to Him in the lower atmosphere of the air and we will always be with Him.
- John 14: Jesus’ Fathers house is always the temple, Jesus is going to seal our redemption then come back and receive us to Him at his coming, we will always be with Him and have a place in the Messianic temple complex of the millennium.
- Revelation 3:10 God will preserve in their faith those who are prepared in all times of tribulation
- John 17: Jesus does not want us to be removed from the earth, but rather be preserved from deception from the evil one.
- My stance is that the scriptures are clear, we will not at any point be raptured into heaven, but rather be raptured to Jesus at His coming back to earth. If we can conclude that the Church will be on the earth during the great tribulation then we must now seek to see what the purpose of the Church is in the great tribulation. We are going to start digging into that in our next episode when we begin our series in Romans Ch 11.
