Whether we're working with a puppy, a dog in the home or out in the wide world we are always striving for the dogs in our care to be as emotionally stable as possible. I will always prioritise this over obedience because if we have a dog that is feeling safe, settled and comfortable then more often than not we don't see undesirable behaviours in the first place and it is our baseline anyway for which we start to teach new skills ...
