McGuinness “will do a great job” - Fitzgerald

The strong vote for Mairead McGuinness in the European Parliament today is a great tribute to her work according to Fine Gael’s Frances Fitzgerald.

MEPs have approved her appointment as EU Commissioner for Financial Services following the resignation of Phil Hogan.

583 voted in favour out of a ballot of 695.
