Market Close 3 Apr 18: ASX 200 slips 0.10%; Santos soars on takeover news

The local sharemarket has started the new month in negative territory, easing by 0.10%. Santos shares soared 16% after receiving a $13.5 billion takeover bid from Harbour Energy.
