Last to see Jesus before He died

Very last to see Jesus via Revelation

4x in the gospels - "the disciple whom Jesus loved"

Not a sensual affection

Not a Phil term

Not a friendship or emotional term

It was a logical term

Wants what is best for the person loved

John 11:3 he whom you loved is ill

verb used in imperfect tense

 

Hebrews 2:18

"Jesus is sitting by God's side, but is on our side"

Do you feel the love?

Hebrews 4

When was the last time you called His name outside church?

 

Others knew John felt loved by Jesus

John 20

Mary has seen stone rolled away

She told Simon Peter and the other disciple

Peter was a leader, but why was John told?

Do people know you have a close relationship with our Lord?

Do they know Jesus loves you? Then why are our buildings half empty?!

 

5 occasions John described himself in this light

   2. The worst moment is when everyone is gone

   1. After death of Jesus, when John probably felt broken

Conclusion

Bring glory to God!

Only one way to do it!

No man comes to the father but by me - Jesus
