How do you deal with the death of a loved one?
That’s a discussion that’s hard to have- especially if it’s a spouse that you’ve been married to for over 40 years…
Shelly and I talked to Ted Baehr, who told me his reality died. Shelly and I were shocked and sad… and brought to tears as we talked. You must listen to Shelly’s prayer at the end!
In this week’s podcast, Shelly and I have a special short interview with Ted Baehr, Founder and Publisher of MOVIEGUIDE®. Ted recently lost his wife to cancer and talked to us about how he handled that terrible time.
Shelly and I asked Ted to explain the value of mourning and why we need to learn how to embrace it.
“It’s a gift from God,” Ted said. “Mourning is to help cleanse us and renew us and teach us to have compassion for other people. Remember, we were created in God’s image, and God has emotions… that’s why we have emotions.”
Ted went on to explain that even Jesus wept for Lazarus… and it was a deep, mournful wail. Even David mourned for Saul for a year… In fact, he said, “We used to do that at one time… then we stopped… Even every President who lost a spouse mourned for a year.”
Anyone listening to this insightful podcast will benefit from what Ted Baehr has to say.
