6 years after the surprisingly successful Terminator 3--John Connor is back but from the future! The very first Terminator film to fully take place after Judgement Day; the year is 2018 and the Resistance is on the brink of winning the war against the Machines. Fully loaded with spectacular practical effects and Batman himself, Christian Bale, the film seemed destined to be a winner...except it wasn't. Universally despised by critics, under-performing at the box office and a mild reception by audiences it was clear the franchise had fallen out of popular opinion. What was supposed to be the beginning to a brand-new trilogy, instantly spiraled toward an unknown future. After 11 years has Terminator Salvation actually become the best film in the entire series or is this take too Mad Maxian for the Machines to handle?
