Was Donald Trump right to stop standing by America’s strict immigration laws?

We discussed the outrage over the policy recently – some people called it “cruel and immoral”.

At the time Trump stood by the policy, making comments such as: “a county without borders is not a country at all”

But just a few days later he has ordered an end to the policy. He signed a new executive order yesterday and he will be:

“keeping families together”

Is this change of policy being brought about to protect America? Or is it merely a response to all the criticism Trump has been receiving?
