Market Close 18 Oct 21: Aussie stocks lift for a 3rd day

The Australian sharemarket rose for a third straight day in choppy trade, with the ASX 200 lifting by 0.26% thanks mainly to strong gains from financials and materials. Weaker data on China's economy weighed on the market this afternoon. Longer-term bond yields rose.
