East Clare Memorial Committee marked the centenary of one of Clare’s most significant moments in the War of Independence: the shooting dead by British forces on the Bridge at Killaloe of four men who subsequently became known as The Scariff Martyrs. 100 years to the day and the hour a private ceremony took place at 11pm on the 16th of November to mark the event.
