The European Parliament today voted for a resolution calling for mandatory limits on certain bad fats used in food. The fats, which are industrially produced, are known as trans-fatty acids. They can be found in the likes of deep fried foods, some soups and sauces along with cakes and other bakery products. And, they’re said to increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, infertility, Alzheimer’s, diabetes and obesity. The Sinn Finn MEP Lynn Boylan says they should be phased out completely.
