Morning Report : 20 May 19 - ASX 200 to advance on Coalition win

US sharemarkets fell on Friday, dragged down by trade tensions between the US and China. US President Trump said he would delay a decision on auto tariffs by as much as six months. Economic data was positive. Also 460 of S&P 500 companies have now posted first-quarter results and 75.2% beat analyst expectations. Earnings are tipped to be up 1.4% on a year ago, above earlier estimates of a 2% decline. The Dow Jones fell by almost 99 points or 0.4%. The S&P500 index fell by 0.6%. And the Nasdaq index lost 82 points or 1.0%. Over the week the Dow lost 0.7%, the S&P 500 fell by 0.8% and the Nasdaq lost 1.3%.
