Wiregrass Daily News got the chance to chat with Miss River Festival, Raylei Perry, and Festival Coordinator, Sam Thompson, as the city of Geneva gets ready for the Geneva Festival on The Rivers taking place this Friday through Sunday, April 25–27. The festival will begin on Friday at 4pm with a parade, followed by sign-ups for the Corn Hole Tournament beginning at 5pm. Country artist Danny Riley will perform live at 6pm to help kick off the weekend. Gates will open Saturday at 8am to start a day full of live music, the “Smoke on The Water” barbecue contest, and many activities for all ages. Families can also enjoy the free Kid Zone, open Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. From 8am to 1pm, on Saturday, there will be a classic car show, featuring vintage and custom rides with a cash prize sponsored by Motes Body Works. Live music returns Saturday evening starting at 5pm, featuring performances by talented local artists. The night will wrap up with a headline performance by Red Ferrin at 7:30pm. Sunday will beginning with an opening ceremony, a prayer, and the National Anthem. Local gospel performers will provide uplifting music throughout the day, with the final act taking the stage at 4pm. There is no admission fee on Friday or Sunday, but festival goers are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or make a monetary donation at the gate in support of the Geneva County Food Pantry. Saturday ticket prices are $12 for adults and $6 for students if purchased in advance. Tickets at the gate will be $15 for adults and $8 for students.
