Interview Marian Harkin on Strasbourg shootings

Interview with the Independent MEP for Midlands North-West Marian Harkin on the killings last Tuesday evening in Strasbourg.

A gunman opened fire on people who were enjoying Strasbourg’s famous Christmas market in the old quarter. Three people were killed and at least twelve were injured in the attack.

The twenty nine year old Strasbourg-born suspect, was killed last night (Thursday) after he fired at police officers who had tracked him down. They found Cherif Chekatt about two kilometres from the city centre where he had launched his attack.

In the interview Marian Harkin describes where she was at the time of the attack along with the implications of the shooting.
