The Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly is urging businesses in Ireland to source funding from the European Investment Bank to finance projects they want to develop. The EIB is supporting the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI) which is an initiative launched jointly by the EIB Group and the European Commission to help overcome the current investment gap in the EU by mobilising private financing for strategic investments. The EIB has just opened a permanent office in Dublin with the aim of providing financial support for infrastructural projects and to lend to small enterprises here. Mr Kelly says those businesses that would qualify to get EIB loans, should contact the Dublin office to seek help with any information they may need for their projects.
