AM Report 18 June 18: Trade concerns hit commodities and stocks

US sharemarkets ended lower on Friday on fears of an escalating trade dispute between the US and China. Trade-dependent stocks fell the most while energy stocks fell in response to a lower oil price. The Dow Jones fell by 85 points or 0.3%. The S&P 500 index fell by just 0.1% while the Nasdaq eased by almost 15 points or 0.2%. Over the week the Dow lost 0.9%, the S&P 500 was flat and the Nasdaq rose by 1.3%.
