AM Report 15 Aug 17:Calm over North Korea lifts markets.

US sharemarkets rose for the second straight session on Monday, as the de-escalation of tensions with North Korea and the US, drove bargain-hunting. Technology shares including Apple rallied sharply supporting the broader market. The CBOE volatility index fell further from last week’s 9-month highs, down by 20 per cent to 12.3 points. Tesla rose 1.5% after broker upgrades. The Dow Jones rose by 135 points or 0.6%. The S&P 500 rose by 1% while the Nasdaq rose by almost 84 points or 1.3%.
