1. Some passages are written from the perspective of God's Sovereignty (His eternal decrees)

2. Some passages are written from the perspective of Man's experience (living life - covenant life)

3. There are two kinds of election in Scripture
a. Corporate (The Church) - Romans 11, 1 Peter 2:9
b. Individual - John 18:9, Acts 13:48

4. The Covenant Community refers to the corporately elected body - the Church. It doesn't mean that everyone in the body is individually elect.
a. 1 John 2:18

5. Perseverance in Christ is what proves individual election
a. 2 Peter 1:10-11
