US Close 19 Dec 18: Dow bounces off 9-month low

The US sharemarket has had yet another volatile session with energy stocks weighing on stocks following a 7.3% slide in oil prices overnight. The Dow Jones rose by 0.3% while the S&P 500 remained near the 14-month lows hit a day earlier.
