The Irish government has facilitated tax avoidance on a massive scale. So says the Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy. He criticised Ireland during a debate on tax issues in the European Parliament this week. The Midlands North-West MEP condemned the government for giving multi-national companies like Google and Microsoft until 2021 to restructure their tax affairs. Speaking after the debate, Mr Carthy said that Ireland is well known internationally for its tax avoidance loopholes.
