Welcome to episode 11! Today I’m joined by Paula Perry, founder of an organisation called You 4 Us. This is a legacy organisation aimed at supporting families, particularly Black families to break inter-generational cycles of poverty and develop the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive.
Paula is a living testament to the work she does. According to statistics she should not be a professional woman, published author or a person developing a nice property portfolio, but here she is doing these things and empowering others with the skills and strategies she has developed.
Paula’s approach to financial empowerment is so practical and effective she is able to demystify jargon and help people understand their finances. She also provides coaching, workshops and online packages that support people to understand that they can identify and change the beliefs that are driving their behaviour and decision making. Paula’s work in in finance is the tip of the iceberg she does work around parenting and developing confidence too. Paula decided to start in the area of finance as she is aware that it is difficult to focus on deeper layers such as emotional behaviour and wellbeing if finances are causing stress. Paula also knows that looking at the behaviour that underpins our financial choices can be a way to assist people to start becoming more self aware.
Paula brings a new level of diversity to personal development making the concept of thriving available to people that society often over looks.
In this episode we talk about the four stages of wealth, how Paula assists people to give their money purpose, money mindset and more.
Paula also makes some book recommendations to assist with shifting our money blue prints:
Rich Dad Poor Dad, Robert T. Kiyosaki
The Richest Man in Babylon, George Samuel Clason
You Are a Badass At Making Money, Jen Sincero
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, T. Harv Eker
