Proposals for a European degree, that would be automatically recognised throughout the bloc, were outlined today by the European Commission. The idea is that the degree would be awarded jointly and on a voluntary basis, by a group of universities across Europe. It would be based on a common set of criteria agreed at a European level.
European Commission Vice-President Margaritis SCHINAS today said the proposed EU degree was a response to the demands from higher education institutions, young people and industry.
