Don Elgin is a 4 time Paralympic medallist and all round great guy. Don was born without a left leg or left thumb, small toes, and webbed fingers on both hands; his malformed left foot was amputated shortly after he was born and he had open heart surgery at the age of three. Don was born without a left leg or left thumb, small toes, and webbed fingers on both hands; his malformed left foot was amputated shortly after he was born and he had open heart surgery at the age of three.

Don takes us through what it was like as a young kid in his situation and some of the teasing & bullying he received which led to him at the age of 11 thinking about how he would end his life. A conversation with his father prompted him to think about his situation from a different perspective.

We speak about what it was like trekking Kokoda which Don has done multiple times and what it is like living with a prosthetic leg.

This chat was filled with laughter as we sat back and spoke about life, parenthood and everything in-between.
