Phil Gonzales completed two tours with 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Vietnam, from 1969 to 1971, was assigned to the 3rd Mobile Strike Force (similar to today’s quick reaction forces), and was on various “A teams” scattered from the Northern Highlands to the Mekong Delta.
