Note: in this lesson I bring up how contraception and women in the workplace have changed society and fatherhood. Please understand this is not a criticism of either one of these things; it's just a fact. Contraception has promised no unwanted pregnancies and yet millions of babies come into the world unwanted and too many of those are killed through abortion. This happens because either the failure of those contraception devices, or their misuse, or a lack of their use in the first place. In any case, my comments are simply to state the obvious about their impact... both of these have had dramatic implications on society, both for good and bad. Like everything, there's a downside to practically everything. The other fact I didn't mention is how the US Government rewards women who have lots of babies through the welfare state by giving them more money as they have more children and adding a marriage penalty so that if they do keep the dad around they lose this incentive. This has been a huge blunder which has further damaged the home and family unit.
