Paul ‘Roosy’ Roos has been a legend of our game as a player and coach and has done some wonderful work in the media post his career so chatting to him on Legends with Bevo has certainly been one of my highlights.
I also asked him about those controversial comments by Andrew Demetriou when he criticised Roosy’s coaching style back in 2005, his response was priceless:
‘It was very strange, we were doing so much for the game and promoting the game in NSW and it was like the CEO of Pepsi saying don’t drink Pepsi in NSW, drink Coke instead'.
Roosy raised some interesting thoughts on the pandemic, we also spoke about how the AFL has done a wonderful job to get through the season this year and why it’s been a blessing to have footy and sport to watch.
We also spoke about the benefits of meditating on game day as a player and coach, Roosy and his wife’s passion for mindfulness and wellness, playing with and against some of the best players of all time, his footy journey and highlights of his career and the thrill of breaking a 72 year drought when coaching the Swans to the 2005 AFL Premiership.
