The Power and the Glory

Luke 19:28-38 (39-44)

When Jesus enters Jerusalem on the back of the donkey, he comes in power but of a different kind. When the people shout their Hosannas, they speak of the king who fulfills the song of the angels at his birth that brings ‘Peace and glory in the highest!’ The Power and the Glory of God, made flesh in the Incarnation is what Jesus embodies on this Palm Sunday but it is reinterpreted and expressed anew in the resurrection that is to come.
