June 21, 2015: I Know Who You Are – Michael Hidalgo

Jesus takes his disciples to the most pagan of areas and in that place, Peter drops the bomb. “You are the Christ.” This is no small statement. It places the hopes of Israel squarely on the shoulders of Jesus, and declares something deeper about the person of Jesus. He is God in form – one who was from the beginning of time. It is this recognition that will conquer the Gates of Hell and will overcome. In fact, this affirmation from Peter was so massive that Jesus pointed out it was not something revealed to him but his own mind or the mind of any person, but through God himself.
