New EU-Singapore trade deal “chilling effect” – Harkin

The Independent MEP Marian Harkin is condemning the inclusion of an investment protection mechanism in the new EU-Singapore trade deal.

The European Parliament this week gave the green light to the free trade agreement which will remove virtually all tariffs between the EU and Singapore within five years. Marian Harkin says the deal could leave Ireland open to being sued by international investors.
