What is EMDR really?

At its core, EMDR is a therapy designed to help the brain process unresolved memories that are still causing distress. Through a structured process and bilateral stimulation, it helps traumatic memories move from something that feels overwhelming and present, into something that feels like part of the past. The memory doesn’t disappear but the emotional weight of it can change. And for many people, that shift can be an important step toward healing.
