The Bold and the Beautiful viewers are showing their discontent with head writer and showrunner Brad Bell's storytelling decisions in February sweeps.
They accuse him of neglecting fan-favorite characters on Bold & Beautiful while focusing on new characters during the crucial February sweeps period. Bell's decisions have led to a steady decline in ratings.
During this important period on B&B, viewers have noticed the underutilization of popular characters like Steffy Forrester, Finn, Brooke Logan, Thomas Forrester, Hope Logan, Eric Forrester, Donna Logan, and Bill Spencer.
In contrast, new characters like RJ Forrester and Luna Nozawa have seen increased screen time, an apparent attempt by Bell to halt Bold and Beautiful's declining ratings.
Viewers have also criticized Bell for his treatment of the show's few black characters during Black History Month. Many are displeased with how Zende Forrester Dominguez's character is being portrayed, arguing that it is insensitive and tone-deaf.
Despite these criticisms, Bell continues to push a new cast of characters to the forefront, sidelining popular characters and risking further alienation of the show's fanbase.
It remains to be seen how these choices will impact the show's ratings and audience response in the coming weeks.
