To no surprise, we've followed and admired veteran Canuck metallers VOIVOD right from the get-go. First, as mid-80s underground thrash darlings and literally throughout the decades, Voivod has always carved their own niche and followed the muses of their own creativity. All the while, they maintained the integrity of true musical artists. The one constant throughout has been the presence of drummer Away! The man saw all the victories... and defeats. They fought thru all the trials and tribulations and came out stronger for it. Through it all creating top drawer tunage. Recently, Voivod headlined the inaugural SOS Fest in Winnipeg. Even with the night in full swing, Mr. Away still found a few minutes to share some thoughts with us. We discussed the new album "The Wake", his definition of the Voivod sound, some "Jasonic" talk, and he answered another one of our thirty (!) year old queries. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we hit our local wrasslin' matches and comic shops. Musically, we crank the new Voivod, CAULDRON and CEMETERY LUST records. As well as some classic RAZOR! Horns!!
