The Light of Love is Deep within Everyone

Today’s Title: “The Light of Love is Deep within Everyone” - Ephesians 3:14-21

 

INTRO: Proverbs 20:27

“YOUR INNER BEING”

The Father provision, the Spirit’s power, and Son’s presence

14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

• Out of the riches of the Father (v14)
• Empowered by his Spirit IN YOUR INNER BEING
• So the Son may dwell in your heart
• “inner being”
  • Genesis 1:27 – Every human “being” is created in the image of God
  • Psalm 63:1 – The deepest desire of our “being” is to know our creator
  • Psalm 103:1 – True worship comes from my inmost “being”
  • Psalm 130:5 – Truth is worth waiting for
  • Psalm 139:13-14 – I am God’s wonderful work of art (see also Ephesians 2:10)
  • Proverbs 20:27 – WOW! – Light lives within me!
  • Acts 17:26-28 – Even Greek philosophers know this!
  • Romans 7:21-23 – The desire for God is in us all (but so are other desires)

 

“ESTABLISHED IN LOVE”

God does not possess love, He is love.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,

“LOVE THAT SURPASSES KNOWLEDGE”

You can’t think your way to God, but He wants you to know He has already loved His way to you.

19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

“IMMEASURABLY MORE”!

If we place limitations on love, we are placing limits on God.

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
