Days of our Lives showed fans a dramatic recasting of character Theresa Donovan, previously portrayed by Jen Lilley, now taken over by Emily O'Brien. The switch sparked debates, with some fans lauding the decision while others expressed disappointment. 

The decision to recast was reportedly prompted by Lilley's inability to appear for the required 12-week arc, due to other commitments. Contrary to the usual procedure, she was not told of the recasting until she confronted the show's now-fired producer, Albert Alar.
