The purpose of the wilderness experience is to remove you from any creature comforts that consciously or subconsciously create a dependence on anything other than the power of God. The purpose of the wilderness is to teach you how to fight. At the same time, Satan has a plan for you too in the wilderness -- to distract you long enough to destroy you.
