What is the worst pain you have ever gone through?
Divorce, break up, cancer, physical condition, burned, loss of a child…
How do you know that you should experience pain from that…???
Mental, emotional, spiritual and social… Not just physical
Lets face it. We live in a world where we think if we really try we can live without pain.
In fact we think pain is unfair
It is not necessary
It means something is wrong….
What is life? it is a solid mixture of joy, pain and the unknown. You cant experience all of life if you want to avoid pain… it is impossible.
Remember at the beginning of the podcast… I asked you how you knew certain things were painful?
You only know that because you have also experienced joy.
You know the difference by experiencing the two…
Romans 5:3-5 talks about this in a deeper way.
More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Paul is saying not only can we know the difference BUT we can also expect Gods love out of suffering
What a paradox… Pain produces joy and love…
just the opposite of what the world is selling.
PAIN
There are many things in life that could cause you a lot of pain, but doing nothing will always create the most pain. Garth
Pain forces us to look deeper into our lives then joy. And at those times we can thank God for the opportunity to find what we need to forgive, learn from, seek his counsel and his grace.
Pain is a gift!
