We are thrilled to have Kathleen Flynn, author of "The Jane Austen Project," join us for a captivating book club discussion. Kathleen shared her journey of crafting a genre-bending novel that blends time travel, fantasy, dystopian, and historical elements. She delved into the challenges of categorizing her book and the inspiration drawn from the works of Jane Austen.
Kathleen shared several intriguing insights into her writing process, from developing the tagline "What would you give up so she could live?" to the intricate research she conducted, including firsthand experiences in England, to authentically portray the Regency period in her book. She also highlighted the influence of Jane Austen's life and writing on her own work, exploring the subtleties of social cues and details without belaboring them.
This is a book club discussion so there are spoilers. If you haven't read The Jane Austen Project yet, be warned!
