The Way to Joy: Guest Pastor Duane Jass

As Jesus was praying just before He was arrested, (John 17:13), he prayed

“I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the

world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.”

This morning we will examine 3 important truths that help us to

experience joy on the way to meet Jesus.

I. Joy is always ____________ to those who _______________.

a. Luke 1:46-49 -- -“And Mary said: My soul glorifies the Lord

and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior…..

II. Joy is given to those who are thankful _____ all things and _________

b. Ann Voskamp – One Thousand Gifts – “Praying with eyes wide open

enables one to pray without ceasing.”

III. Humility is the God given soil (_________) that grows ___________

that yields ____________ ___________!!!

Hebrews 12:2, Philippians 2:6-7

a. Martin Luther – “God created the world out of nothing and as long as

we are nothing, He can create something out of us.”

b. Henry Ward Beecher – “ How much larger our lives would be if we

could become smaller in it."

c. Jesus – “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me, yet not my

will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:42

GOD IS ALWAYS GOOD AND HE ALWAYS LOVES ME!
