US sharemarkets recorded modest gains in late trade on Wednesday, following the stellar gains in the prior session. Six of the major 10 S&P sectors were lower. Shares of the world’s largest seed maker Monsanto was the biggest drag on the S&P 500, losing 7.9% after slashing it 2016 profit forecast, citing tougher conditions in the farm sector. At the close of trade, the Dow Jones was up by 33 points or 0.2%. The S&P 500 index rose 0.4%, while the Nasdaq was higher by 14 points or 0.4%. ...
