Is Pageau suggesting a return to traditional society/traditional worldview, or offering a new premoderism that has gone through the fires of modernity/postmodernity? To piggyback on @Julian W's question, if something new (a "new premodernism" as Julian said) were to arise out of modernity/postmodernity that could somehow still attempt integration with the tradition of the previous centuries, and if this is something that you believe could be a positive development within Christianity, what do you personally believe that would/should look like? Owen Barfield says that we can no longer participate in reality in the way we originally did, but must move onto some sort of "final" participation. Yet the culmination of this final participation for him seems to be found in the Eucharist, which precedes the breakdown of original participation. So I guess I'm asking how (if at all) you might believe a sort of "old yet new" form participation could be brought about within Christianity after the Enlightenment/Modernism/Postmodernism, and what you think that might be. (You may cover this when answering @Julian W's post, if so just skip right by to the next question )
