Mid-Session 1 Sep 20: Stocks drop to start September

It has been a tough start to the new month with the ASX 200 deeply in the red. Losses have been widespread as financials, technology, energy and consumer staples weigh heavily as roughly 90% of the top 200 stocks fall. The AUD is a winner so far as it closes in on 74 US cents.
