In this episode, Dan and Lauren speak with Dr. Cameron Beatty, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator in the Higher Education program and the Associate Director of the Leadership Learning Research Center at Florida State University.
During the conversation, Dr. Beatty shares how the group came together to support the call for leadership education to emphasize inclusion, identity, social justice, and equity. The co-authors of Priority #1 of the National Leadership Education Research Agenda (NLERA) state, "we must move beyond theorizing about individual student differences and do more to interrogate the systems and structures involved in the socialization of leadership education.” Additionally, all examine existing research and practice related to the priority.
Beatty is the lead author and part of the writing team for Priority Number 1, titled “A Call for Centering Social Identities: Priority 1 of the NLERA 2020-25.”
