"that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls." This is a hard passage. It is interesting that when Moses askes God to show him His glory (Exodus 33), God says that, "I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
