AM Report 1 May 18: Iran and inflation fears hit the US, RBA in focus.

US sharemarkets ended lower on Monday, weighed down by the health and industrials sectors. Shares in McDonalds rose by 5.8% after revenue over the last quarter topped analyst expectations. In the telco sector T-Mobile agreed to buy Sprint for $26 billion but shares in both stocks fell on concerns about whether regulators would agree to the deal. After trading in a 335 point range, the Dow Jones ended lower by 148 points or 0.6%. The S&P 500 index fell by 0.8%, while the Nasdaq lost 53.5 points or 0.8%.
