In recent times in the US, there was a situation arose where a priest was watching a video recording of his Baptism and realised that the priest officiating did not do the Baptism correctly, and so the priest was in fact not baptised.  After bringing the situation to his Bishop, the priest had to be baptised, confirmed, ordained etc.  

This has led us to discuss with Fr. Philip Kemmy of the Diocese of Raphoe what Baptism is really about, what actually happens, and is it more than a token gesture?
