This second time guest-starring, he helps me determine what appeals and eventually undermines the once-winning formulas of these two initial signature buddy film franchises. Does the 48 Hrs. sequel merit a rewatch (if not a Blu Ray buy)? Why is the RPG scene in Beverly Hills Cop II so often imitated in all kinds of later genre films? Would Miami Vice be the same without either film franchise's prior existence? Why is the third BHC still so annoying to watch nowadays?
